Oakland, CA -- Oakland police on Tuesday confiscated some 2,000 pounds of illegal fireworks and three guns from a house in the Fruitvale district. They also arrested and charged the suspected owners of the items. The police raided the house in the 1400 block of 40th Avenue after receiving tips from residents about the dangerous fireworks in the said house. An undercover police bought fireworks from one of the suspects around 8:30 p.m. before the house was raided. The seized fireworks included M-80s, bottle rockets and mortar launchers mostly made in China. The fireworks are worth $75,000. If exploded, they would have leveled the house they were in, adjacent homes and caused a large fire, Sgt. Barry Donelan, the Oakland police department's arson and explosives expert, told Insidebayarea.com. One of the suspects was identified as Gabriel Bueno, 65.
