President Pardons Turkey But Still Gobbles Gobbler

Washington -- Just because President George W. Bush recently "pardoned" a Thanksgiving turkey, don't think that it's anything beyond ceremony.

Bush still plans to gobble a gobbler today but his choice in turkeys may be a sign of a kinder, gentler Prez.

According to Laura Bush's Thanksgiving menu, the Bush family plans to dine on a healthy free-range turkey.

Also on the menu for the Presidential dinner: cornbread dressing, sweet potatoes, fresh cranberry sauce, giblet gravy, fruit salad, green beans with anchovy butter and red peppers, crescent rolls and pumpkin and pecan pie.

Finally, if you were wondering the fate of the turkey that Bush pardoned, "Katie the turkey" will be moved to a petting zoo, where she will live out the rest her life -- which is estimated at two years.
