Granny And Gramps Prefer To Keep Their Distance For The Holidays

Wichita, KS -- Inviting grandma and grandpa home for the holidays can be a handful for some grandchildren, and the feeling is mutual.

According to a new survey, old-timers enjoy visiting their grandkids, but they also like keeping their distance.

In fact, the poll by Candlewood Suites shows 25 percent of grandparents say they can only handle their grandkids in small doses.

Astonishingly, six percent say they'd rather pitch a tent in a nearby park or even have a root canal before staying with their grandkids.

Finally, some seniors can't stomach their grandchildren's cooking either. Four percent say they'd rather get a tattoo than eat their grandkids' chow.
