Los Angeles, CA (WFN) -- There's been lots of controversy about jokes made in the film "Barbershop" poking fun at civil rights leaders Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks. However, it's no laughing matter to one of the film's actors, who thinks says all the anti-"Barbershop" talk is "highly inappropriate." Keith David, who plays the villain "Lester" in the film, says protestors Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson don't understand that the film is a comedy. Also, he says barbershops are traditionally places where folks go to "talk stuff" and play devil's advocate. According to David, the jokes were simply jokes, and you'd have to be a "stupid ignoramus to not understand that." Plus, says David, Jackson and Sharpton "aren't exactly angels themselves" and "even Judge Judy would throw out their argument in court."
