The Eco-Logique™ MasterCard® Credit Card, issued by MBNA Canada, is an eco-friendly credit card that is only available to Canadian residents.
Those who are deeply concerned about the environment will find that the rewards program featured on this card provides a unique way to contribute to carbon offsetting efforts. Carbon offsets are certificates or credits that represent a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by a company or organization. Cardholders will earn one carbon offset point for every dollar they spend using the card. MBNA Canada will then redeem the points automatically and use the equivalent funds (0.50% of net retail expenses) to acquire carbon offsets on the cardholder's behalf.
This card does not require an annual fee. There is a 1.9% introductory AIR on balance transfers and cheque cash advances for the first six months of establishing an account. Rates for purchases, balance transfers, and cash advances are fixed, so cardholders can look forward to stability when using this card.
As the environment benefits from carbon offsetting, cardholders can enjoy the additional benefits that come with the card. These benefits include a credit limit that may be as much as $100,000, fraud protection, online account management, and more.
